Title : Lennox Lewis Devastating Knockout Of Michael Grant, 2 Heavyweight Boxing Giants In A Brutal Slugfest Lennox Lewis one of the greatest Heavyweight Boxers in history took on the hard punching American Michael Grant who was seen as one of the best up and coming young heavyweight boxers of that time. From the opening bell of round one the two huge men threw massive punches and strong jabs, each fighter looking for an opening to end the fight early. Grant started throwing huge haymakers, hoping to connect and catch Lewis off guard. As Grant and Lewis exchanged punches in close Lewis caught grant with a bone jarring punch that sent Grant tumbling to the canvas. Grant staggered to his feet and beat the count, only to be pummeled by another flurry of heavy punches by Lewis. Grant staggered then fell back onto the ropes. The ref watched as Grant, now looking dazed and confused, slowly lifted himself up and with amazement, was able to again beat the count. Once the ref moved aside, Lewis again pounced on Grant, not giving him any chance to recover. Grant showing some amazing heart and determination, started launching huge punches from all sides showing he was'nt ready to quit just yet. The two big men started fighting up close when again Lewis threw a massive over hand right sending Grant crashing to the canvas. Surely the fight was over. Grant looked completely done as he laid flat on his back as the ref continued with the count. Astonishingly, Grant got up to his, beat the count and was able to finish the round. Round two was much the same as round one, only this Time, Lennox Lewis went all out chasing Grant around the ring, with Grant covering whilst Lewis Unloaded. Incredibly Grant started trading heavy blows with Lewis and at one stage looked to have caught Lewis with some heavy shots. At the middle round 2 Lewis was in full control and was smothering Grant with overhand rights, and punches from all angles. The two big men started fighting and grappling in close and as Grant dropped his right arm, Lewis pushed Grant's head down with his left hand before delivering a massive right uppercut that sent Grant tumbling and hitting the canvas hard. Lewis stood over Grant before the ref pushed him away, as Grant stumbled to his feet before stumbling backwards again. The ref stepped in and grabbed Grant as Grant feel into the ropes. The fight was over in less than 2 rounds. The two huge men put on an incredible Boxing exibition, showing power, guts and amazing determination and a will to win. The only thing I could fault Lewis for is his tendancy to hold his apponents heads down whilst throwing uppercuts or punches to the back of the head, something he has done throughout his career. Regardless of this, Lennox Lewis had once again shown the world why he is regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxing champions of all time.
