This is the incredible story of Captain Lakshmi Sehgal, the commander of the Rani of Jhansi Regiment in Subhas Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army (INA). Born in 1914 in Madras, Lakshmi Swaminathan studied medicine and went on to become a practicing gynecologist. But in 1943, her life took a dramatic turn when she met Netaji in Singapore and joined the INA. There, she formed and led one of the first all-women combat regiments in modern history, inspiring thousands of women to break boundaries.
