Description

The GWR 'Saint' class was the first in a long line of standard 4-6-0 locomotives for the Great Western Railway, with 74 examples (not including prototypes) built across four batches between 1902 and 1913. The final survivor wasn't withdrawn until 1953, and although none of the originals were preserved, the class has since been revived (somewhat) with a new-build finished in 2019. The new-build is 2999 'Lady of Legend'. This video is focused on the brand-new 'Saint' add-on from Caledonia Works, which features both the 4-4-2 'Atlantic' and 4-6-0 configurations (not to mention the four production batches and 2999 'Lady of Legend'). These engines are pretty fun to drive, and I found the 4-6-0 variant to be a better hill-climber than I was expecting.
