Heathrow 09R departures & some helicopter action at Hampstead Heath 08/04/2026

Here’s another instalment of some more Hampstead Heath action. Whilst this little location of mine is most illustrious for being the host of Heathrow traffic, this very outing was host to two separate helicopter movements. The first in particular helicopter shot was not much to write home about, bar being one of the “newer” A109 Trekers recently getting listed in the UK registry not long ago. The second movement was the most amusing to me however, as I was under the constant surveillance of Sky News; which had happened to trace my movements in the park judging by the way it orbited over me. Thats despite me not aspiring to be a famous figure yet! Anyways, whilst it was a jolly day of planespotting, I did have a bit of ordeal with actually filming the circling helicopter in the end since my arms were plenty sore. Thus some footage that I simply deemed too “out of frame” was discarded.
