Description
I understood this feeling soooo much during high school, but now as a Harvard student I’m here to tell you everything I know!!! 👇
Every day I talk to students who feel like everyone else has it figured out….
They think other people have better internships, better stats, and better “stories.”
But after helping thousands of applicants get into top colleges, I noticed the students who get in aren’t the busiest but the most intentional.
If you feel behind, start here:
1️⃣ The Narrative Method (College Apps)
Instead of stacking activities, build around 1–2 core values. Every class, project, leadership role, and essay should reinforce the same identity.
When your application feels aligned, admission officers remember it.
2️⃣ The 20/5 Technique (Studying)
Most students “study” for 2–3 hours and retain almost nothing. Try this instead:
• 20 minutes of deep focus
• 5 minutes of active recall (close notes, write everything you remember)
• Repeat.
It forces your brain to struggle productively, which is what actually builds retention.
3️⃣ The COPA Strategy (SAT/ACT)
This stands for Create (Your) Own Precise Answer
Step 1: Read the question carefully.
Step 2: Cover the answer choices.
Step 3: Create your own exact answer in your head or on paper.
Step 4: Eliminate choices that don’t match your answer.
Step 5: Select the option that precisely aligns.
