There are a few things that you DON'T want to happen to you, and that is have a ball joint fail! If that happens, the car will basically drop to the ground on the wheel where the ball joint has failed and you will need to find a way to jack up the car and or drag it onto a tow truck.
I have helped a friend replace his one in a Maccas carpark once and he is lucky it dropped there instead of while driving because that could be catastrophic if it happened at speed!
This episode is basically a how to remove and replace your control arm. This goes without saying... DO NOT ATTEMPT IF YOU'RE NOT CONFIDENT OR EXPERIENCED! Failure to refit suspension components properly can do some serious damage if things come flying off while at speed, while also having you completely lose control of your car.
