"Wiener Blut" (Viennese Blood) is one of Johann Strauss II’s most famous and elegant waltzes, composed in 1873. It's a quintessential example of the golden-age Viennese waltz — graceful, patriotic, and richly melodic. The waltz was premiered at a ball celebrating the marriage of Archduchess Gisela of Austria to Prince Leopold of Bavaria. It was symbolically titled "Viennese Blood" to honor the imperial heritage and cultural pride of Austria.
