Press Conference: Civil Rights Activists Arrested on Federal Charges for Protest at Minnesota Church

In Minnesota, two well-known civil rights activists Nekima Levy Armstrong and Chauntyll Louisa Allen, as well as activist William Kelly were taken into federal custody on Thursday. Federal officials are calling the disruption, which injured no one, a “coordinated attack” and also "anti-Christian" — despite Armstrong being a Christian preacher herself who argues that ICE's activities violate the teachings of the gospel. Local ICE Director David Easterwood is the pastor of Cities Church in St. Paul. Charging papers were not immediately available. A warrant is reportedly out for a third activist.
