Most people still treat nosebleeds the wrong way, so here’s the correct first-aid procedure, step by step: 1️⃣ Gloves on. Protect yourself from the patient’s blood, and protect the patient from your germs. 2️⃣ Head forward. Never lean back. Blood is emetogenic (can cause nausea + vomiting), and vomiting can quickly lead to breathing problems. 3️⃣ Pinch the nose. Apply direct pressure to the soft part of the nose to control the bleeding effectively. 4️⃣ Cool the neck. Place an ice pack or a mix of ice + water on the neck to constrict the vessels supplying the nose, helping to slow the bleeding. If the bleeding does not stop within 20–30 minutes, seek medical attention. Stay safe. 💙
