Staying with the safety car, which Mercedes-Benz celebrated last month, with June 30 marking 30 years since it produced the first official FIA F1 Safety Car, which made its debut at the 1996 French Grand Prix at Magny-Cours. Mercedes has since produced 13 different cars to fulfill the role, from the original C36 AMG, which was the company car of current safety car driver Bernd Mayländer, through to today’s Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, the C190, which puts out 730 brake horsepower.
