The most telling scene in #Orwell’s #1984 is when O’Brien interrogates #WinstonSmith. He asks him, “How much is two plus two?” Winston says four, and he’s given an electric shock. O’Brien says, “No. The Party says it’s five.” They go back and forth, and eventually Winston says five. He’s shocked again. And he says, “Why?
