A shocking revelation has emerged from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the high-profile NEET 2026 paper leak case. The investigation has exposed the financial trail of the main accused, Pune-based beauty parlour operator Manisha Waghmare. According to the CBI, Manisha Waghmare and her associate Dhananjay Lokhande had opened as many as 21 bank accounts in the names of their relatives across Pune, Nashik, and Latur. To evade detection by investigating agencies, they used a ‘layering’ technique. Huge amounts of cash collected from parents were routed through hawala channels and then split into smaller transactions of ₹1–2 lakh before being deposited into these accounts.
