Brave Mama Shields Her Seven 5-Day-Old Newborns From Horrors Of The Wilderness [STORY BELOW]

The mama was COVERED in fleas, and desperate for help. She kept her babies safe, warm, and fed, but it was clear that she was coming undone. This little family was extremely vulnerable. After our rescue partners contacted us, we agreed to take them in and provide the care they desperately needed, with the assurance that our animal-loving community would rise to the occasion. Oue rescue friend has been feeding and caring for countless strays in the area, spaying and neutering who she could when funds allow. She didn’t have enough resources to give this mama and these babies what they needed to survive. We are working with the Animal Care Center for veterinary care, but the costs add up quickly. Mama is heartworm positive, and her babies are only FIVE days old. We also have two other sets of mommas and puppies under our care, which means food, medical care, and supplies are in high demand. Mama has already received a much-needed bath and is learning to trust us. She loves the attention, has a healthy appetite, drinks plenty of water, and is starting to enjoy a safe, fenced exercise area. Her newborns are growing, and with your help, they will thrive. Folks, listen when we say this. Our mission is to reduce the stray population in Tallapoosa County, where there is no animal control, yet an abundance of animals are living in need of rescue. We also run an essential program that seeks to spay and neuter as many community pets as possible, thereby addressing the issue before it begins.
