Hanan al-Barghouti details abuse in Israel's Damon prison

Freed Palestinian prisoner Hanan al-Barghouti detailed the abuse and harsh treatment women prisoners face by Israeli authorities in Damon prison. She witnessed how the women's section experienced frequent raids, with stun grenades thrown into the yard causing intense fear. Guards bound prisoners of all ages with plastic restraints, forced them onto their stomachs, kicked them, and allowed dogs to pass over them. The tight restraints caused severe injuries and left many prisoners bleeding. Following one raid, al-Barghouti's hands turned blue and were temporarily immobilised, resulting in lasting pain. She said that authorities confiscated medications from the section. When she requested a doctor for her injured hand, a nurse simply told her to run hot water over it. Support stories that matter.
