Meet the Corvette E-Ray! This time, in the UK!
It’s the hybrid version of the Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray, and Mat’s about to find out just what’s changed over the standard car.
Starting with the design, the Corvette E-Ray gets the wide-body of the Z06 so it’s almost 10cm wider than the standard car.
The Corvette E-Ray is powered by the same 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 as the standard car but that’s where the similarities end as the E-Ray comes with hybrid power as well!
The engine powers the rear wheels alone but the E-Ray is actually AWD as it has an electric motor on the front axle that when combined with the engine puts out a total of 644hp and 778nm of torque. All that hybrid tech comes at cost though as this E-Ray weighs 1,907kg!
The E-Ray starts from around £153,440, which is around £55,000 more than the regular C8 Corvette. So is it worth it? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!
