Ein Eurofighter kann so bereits innerhalb weniger Minuten vollständig betankt werden, bevor er seinen Einsatz fortsetzt. Neben der Luftbetankung wird der A330 MRTT auch für den Transport von Personal und Material sowie für medizinische Evakuierungsflüge eingesetzt.
