Amidst questions raised concerning the city's surveillance infrastructure and data security, the Delhi government has formulated a plan to phase out Chinese-made cameras. Citing national security implications, the government has characterized this issue as a matter of grave concern. Parvesh Verma, the Minister for the Public Works Department (PWD) in the Delhi government, stated that the cameras procured from the Chinese company Hikvision would be gradually replaced across the entire city.
