Description

This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2026 Nissan Rogue PHEV, compact plug-in SUV. The 2026 Nissan Rogue PHEV, shares the same platform with the Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid. However, it’s the previous generation Outlander PHEV, not the new one for 2026. The 2026 Nissan Rogue PHEV, has a 2.4-litre 4-cylinder with a twin motor PHEV system, a 1-speed automatic transmission and a 20-kWh battery with up to 61 km/38 miles of range. It gets a combined 248 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, standard AWD. There is only one 2026 Nissan Rogue PHEV, trim in Canada, the Platinum and two trims in the US, SL and Platinum. The Platinum comes load with plenty of features like a 12.3” digital driver display, 9” touchscreen, wireless Apple Carplay and wired Android Auto, wireless charger, head-up display, intelligent around view monitor, 9-speaker Bose sound system, leather appointed seats, 8-way power heated front seats, driver and passenger memory seats, heated steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, heated rear seats and a motion activated tailgate. Ventilated front seats and wireless Android Auto are not available. Here’s where it gets interesting, the price. In Canada, the 2026 Nissan Rogue PHEV, Platinum model is $61,545 (includes, freight, PDI and fees). In the US, SL $45,990 and Platinum $49,990 (MSRP). It’s overpriced compared to its PHEV competitors like the Toyota RAV4 and the Mitsubishi Outlander which has an updated powertrain and battery providing more EV range. Although we like this 2026 Nissan Rogue PHEV,, the styling looks good, the interior feels upscale, it’s fuel efficient and it handles well, but there are other PHEVs I can purchase for less with better range. This 2026 Nissan Rogue PHEV, gets a combined fuel economy of 3.7Le/100 km, 64 MPGe. When the battery is depleted 9.4L/100 km, 25 MPG city and 8.7L/100 km, 27 MPG highway. The 2026 Nissan Rogue PHEV, comes with a 3.5 kW onboard charger. At a level 2 charger it will go from 0-100% in 7.5 hours. It does not have DC fast charging capability.
