Description

I really like this melon - rare, unusual, flavourful and sweet. Watermelon are fairly easy to grow and I do love the smaller “icebox” varieties. Seeds of Cream of Saskatchewan are hard to find and if I have seeds available for sale there will be a link: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/257568502809 Despite the late planting, these were just like other melons to grow. I believe the outer layer of the skin was more delicate than other melons as I believe some caterpillars munched off the outer skin. It didn't affect the interior. I'm really looking forward to planting them the coming spring. As I said these sound hollow when they are far from ripe. After the thump test on the underripe one I picked earlier I was sure it must be ripe but the seeds were all white and it still had some weeks to go. A point of interest – as you get very close to the skin it has a citrus tang to it. Just to clarify the $21.50 included charges of: $7.50 membership fee for a 1 month “membership” $6.50 postage *I think there may have been a discount on the price of the seeds do to the “membership” - not trying to mislead, just became aware of it* I very much resented having to buy a “membership” in order to buy “members only” seeds. Now though I can grow it for years. Worth it!!! I had issues in the edit of this video – I kept getting a “file not found” and as I had an abundance of magpie footage and good short material I put it on the back-burner. When I finally got back to it I sorted out the issues, fixed up and added to the draft. Hope you enjoyed it. Cheers folks!
