Fugitive Alleged Lone Wolf Bikie Granted Bail Over Major Meth Operation

#gridsparta #bikies #lonewolfmc An alleged Lone Wolf bikie accused of directing a large scale methamphetamine trafficking operation from overseas has been granted bail by the Southport Magistrates Court after spending more than a month on the run from police. Garry James Brush, 38, was arrested by Taskforce Maxima on May 23 after failing to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court. Police allege he coordinated a sophisticated methamphetamine trafficking network across Far North Queensland between December 2022 and July 2023, involving more than 20 people and kilogram quantities of methamphetamine allegedly transported from Sydney. Prosecutors claimed Brush managed the operation while living overseas, recruiting participants and offering discounted drug prices to expand the network. Six other people have also been charged as part of the investigation. Police located Brush at the Robina Grand Residences on the Gold Coast after allegedly spotting a stolen Toyota LandCruiser entering the underground car park. A search of an Airbnb apartment allegedly being used by Brush uncovered false registration plates. Brush pleaded guilty to separate offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, using false registration plates, driving while unlicensed, failing to appear in court and multiple breaches of bail. He was sentenced to 18 months probation with convictions recorded. Despite police opposing his release, the magistrate granted Brush bail on the serious drug trafficking charge. He must abstain from illicit drugs, avoid contact with his co-accused and complete a one month residential rehabilitation program while awaiting trial.
