After a refreshing tea break atop Babusar Top, we began the adrenaline-filled descent — a true test for any rider, especially on a superbike like the Yamaha R1. We navigated winding mountain valleys, flowing with the legacy of the pass,. Finally, we crossed the Zero Point interchange (Chilas / Gilgit side), paused to rest & recharge, and continued toward Chilas for the night. Chilas greeted us with a dramatic shift in climate — from piercing cold on Babusar to unexpectedly intense heat. Role / Importance: It links the Kaghan Valley (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) with Gilgit-Baltistan via the N-15 / Thak Nala route. Terrain & Risk: The descent from Babusar is known for steep gradients, sharp hairpin bends, and high risk. Many road accidents occur here due to brake failures or rider error. Seasonal Access: The pass is typically open in summer (mid-July through September) and is often closed in winter or monsoon due to snow and landslides. **Zero Point (Chilas / Gilgit interchange region)** This is the junction point where the descent route meets or merges toward Chilas / Gilgit direction (i.e. the transition from the Kaghan-Babusar valley route to the Karakoram Highway network).
