United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed former Haitian prime minister Garry Conille as the new UN Resident Coordinator in Kenyan, the UN said on Wednesday.
Conille took his post on Wednesday, according to a press release.
"Mr. Conille brings over 20 years of experience in international development, humanitarian affairs and public administration to the position, with a strong record of leadership across the United Nations system," the statement read.
The 60-year-old politician has worked with the United Nations since 1999, including as Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
