A Maya style woven hammock is the most comfortable primitive way to rest. After a long day working at the hut, there's no better feeling than to kick up my feet and relax. Good sleep is a critically important factor in survival, and when combined with good food it can ultimately lead to absolute thriving.
I rolled natural sisal fiber twine into 1500 feet of cordage for this project. Some of the cordage I dyed with different colors using totally natural plant=based resources. Most of the time to make this was spent just making the cordage. Weaving the hammock took only a total of about 20 hours.
My favorite alternative to being barefoot are Luna Sandals.
