Kingfish off the Rocks! What gear is working?!

Catching a decent kingfish from the rocks is a challenge, I'd say up there with catching a gamefish from a boat. I've always been a live bait guy, but I've done well over the years on topwater off the rocks, and interestingly the poppers have out performed stick baits for me off the rocks.
