Islam has given women honor, status, and respect, and has also clarified some of the husband’s rights in marital life. In this statement, Qari Muhammad Shahzail, may Allah protect him, explains: The wife’s responsibility is to treat her husband well. Fulfilling the husband’s rights is an act of worship and righteousness. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “If I were to order anyone to prostrate for anyone, I would order the wife to prostrate to her husband.” (Jami’ al-Tirmidhi: 1159) The greatest righteousness for a wife is to please her husband and fulfill his rights.
