We Started Removing Shingles and Found This

Join us as we continue our home renovation journey on our new tiny house! We're tackling some major diy home projects, starting with the garage. Watch as we begin replacing shingles on the roof, inspecting for any needed roof repair, and getting this construction underway. Today my wife Catherine and I started our garage renovation. the First step was to take down these old roof shingles. In many cases you can add another layer of shingles over the top, but you cannot have 3 or more! So in our situation it must all come down. When taking down roof shingles, step one is to expose the ridge so that you can get to the sheathing. This way you can get your stripping tool under all of the layers and be able to work down hill! During our demo process we found a huge issue that will set us back a few days!
