Live: Hamas release six Israeli hostages in Gaza

On Saturday, another six living hostages are expected to be released, including two who have been held in Gaza for about a decade. Another four bodies were expected to be returned to Israel next week. In exchange, Israel has allowed mobile homes and construction equipment for the displaced population of the Gaza Strip, and is supposed to release some 600 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails, including those serving life sentences for the murder of Israelis. Ariel and Kfir Bibas, the red-headed child hostages whose bodies were finally returned from Gaza, were not shot dead or killed in an airstrike, but murdered with the “bare hands” of Hamas fighters, Israel has claimed. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, spokesman for the Israeli military, said on Friday that “contrary to Hamas’s lies, Ariel and Kfir were not killed in an airstrike”. He added: “Terrorists did not shoot the two young boys — they killed them with their bare hands. Afterwards, they committed horrific acts to cover up these atrocities.
