Emily Dickinson poetry There is no Frigate like a Book : how to read and illustrate with music.
Artist book | David bell
Harp | Rebecca Livingston
Narration | Rosheen Gray
Emily Dickinson (1830-66) wrote many hundreds of fine poems which were not known in her lifetime. She is now considered to be one of the most influential figures in American poetry. In this poem, the word Coursers may not be widely known today: it meant very strong horses used in battle or for hunting, and sometimes called war-horses.
The artwork is a sequence of etchings on zinc plates, sometimes inked intaglio and sometimes relief. The letterpress metal type is Bembo, mostly 24 point. The papers were either 100% cotton rag or Bamboo 90% and 10% cotton.
Roger Buckton arranged the music.
