Should you be worried about this??

I got a comment on a recent video which got me thinking about fan wiring. This applies to daisy chainable fans in cases like the Corsair AIR 5400 and Frame 5000D where you're meant to connect them directly to the motherboard. Josh asked about whether this is an issue because the fans draw 0.4 AMPs of current per fan, so technically that's over 1.2A total, but most motherboards only support 1A per SYS/CHA fan header. This is an interesting point and maybe a problem you hadn't thought of. Have you checked the specs of your motherboard and your fans to make sure the power being drawn isn't over the recommended amount? In the Frame 5000D build I did, the motherboard only supported 1A per header but still I had those daisy chained fans in there without issue. In the AIR 5400 i had a lot of fans connected to the motherboard too. But it's worth checking. Some motherboards support more. My personal build allows 2A per header and usually the CPU fan header supports more. But in order to check you have to go to your specific motherboard's manual and look it up. Of course this is NOT a Corsair exclusive issue. Plenty of brands have daisy chainable fans that connect to the motherboard. Those are likely to draw too much power as well.
