Indus Waters Treaty: Dispute, Mechanisms and Way Forward ! Water remains a critical issue in Pakistan–India relations, with major implications for agriculture, energy, and overall sustainability. The Indus Waters Treaty, brokered with the support of the World Bank, has long governed the sharing of river waters between the two countries.
