Three Northbound trains climb out of - and then later descend back into - the the Rangitīkei River valley, along the North Island Main Trunk Line in New Zealand Its a sunny Sunday morning and three trains head northwards up the line in close succession. The first train is a freight service heading from Wellington to Auckland. Next up is heritage railcar RM 31 'Tokomaru' on a Mothers Day excursion to Ohakune. The third movement is the regular Kiwirail tourist passenger train that travels along the Main Trunk Line.
