Montreal mayor announces multi-year plan to promote French in the city

Montreal’s efforts to promote the French language can’t come at the expense of the city’s anglophone community, Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada said Wednesday as she unveiled a new action plan on the issue. In presenting the multi-year plan, Martinez Ferrada also stressed the city’s anglophones have a role to play in helping Montreal strengthen its position as a French-speaking metropolis.
