Description
See inside a camp for the internally displaced in Yemen, home to millions of IDPs including 13-year-old Kholoud, who lives with her mother in an IDP camp in Marib governorate.
"My dream is to become a journalist and photographer to share the struggles of life in the camp, including the strong winds, heavy rain, power outages and cold, so that the world knows our story," Kholoud says.
Kholoud's mother, Jamilah, teaches at one of the UNICEF-supported school in the camp. "What I admire most about Kholoud's generation is active social engagement, their involvement in various fields and their ability to adapt to changing circumstances," Jamilah says.
Every child has the right to an education. When girls receive the support they need, the whole world benefits.
