The rise of foreign influence in poor communities

In southern Serbia, the Roma community has long been neglected by the state and traditional institutions. An evangelical church has become their place of worship, welfare, discipline and belonging, raising bigger questions about why such movements grow where poverty and exclusion are deepest.
