Mum magpie kept hanging around after bales - the 2nd nest is gone #birds #wildlife #australia

Mum isn't behaving as if she has eggs to go back to or newly hatched chicks. Something has happened to the new nest and I think they're done trying to breed for the season. I could be wrong but it's November and it's pretty late for them to have a third go at it. Time will tell. I wonder if the same critter who injured Dad and killed the first batch of chicks took out the second nest too. I'm wondering if that Brown falcon (or its partner) had anything to do with the loss of their nests.
