Minnesota State University Head Coach Luke Strand's TCS Live Minnesota on-ice session progressed from 2 on 2's, to 2 on 1’s, then 3 on 2’s, and finally 3 on 3’s. Each layer added complexity and focused on transitioning from offence to defence and back. Players were forced to scan, process, and transition between offence and defence without pause. As coaches, Strand reminded us that these moments are where hockey IQ is formed, in the split-second choices between puck pressure, support, and recovery.
