A public consultation on kids' use of social media will seek opinions on restricting children's access to AI chatbots and limiting infinite scrolling features known as 'doomscrolling'. Ministers are also considering the case for an Australian-style ban on all social media for under 16s, a law which could come in before the end of this year.
