A powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck the southern Philippines on Monday, causing widespread damage, triggering tsunami warnings and sending residents fleeing to safety. Footage from Mahayahay Elementary School showed school structures collapsing as the earthquake hit, forcing students and staff to run from falling debris. Authorities said the earthquake killed at least three people and injured several others as emergency crews rushed to assess the devastation.
