For example, the Sun catches up to Saturn every 378 days, just as Ptolemy declared. It takes Saturn 29.46 years for it to realign in the same position relative to the stars. Nothing to do with the Sun. Realize the Sun is 3.56 minutes quicker than the stars, not the other way around. The Sun falls short of lapping the Stars every year by 20 minutes (precession of the equinoxes) 20 minutes per year amounts to 1 degree of a 360-degree cycle over 72 years. This is one full day. The Sun speeding ahead of the stars creates 3.56 minutes of new stars to appear behind it earlier the next evening. This is why we are told the stars are quicker than the Sun, lol. A magnetic cycle is 720 degrees = two golden ratio S curve spirals of 360 degrees each, put together create a 2D cardioid plane, which is 720 degrees= one Sun analemma over 365.24 days is the 3D side view. The Sun keeps time not the stars. Catching up to the stars that 20 minutes per year is not time keeping. It is just a new year's start position.
