Pacific++ 2018: Klemens Morgenstern "Portable yet thin OS abstractions"

Keeping the C++ ideals, low overhead and only paying for what you use, does pose non-trivials problems. Not only are concepts like filesystems implemented differently, but these concepts themselves might not be platform independent, like posix-signals. About the speaker: After going into electrical engineering Klemens remembered that C++ development is just way more fun, especially in bare-metal applications. If necessary he's also using operating systems, especially when he can design libraries around it. He is active in several open-source projects and does freelance C++ consulting.
