Most of these claims, or “bro science,” are based on a 2003 study where there was a 145% increase in testosterone levels on day 7 of not having an orgasm for 7 straight days. Is this true? The Science Here’s what research actually shows: A Chinese study in 2003 looked at men abstaining from sex or masturbation. Testosterone levels stayed the same for the first 6 days.
