Here’s my breakdown for @pwnisher Challenge, Chasm’s Call. I’m calling my entry Colosseum of the Fallen Flame. Wasn’t sure I’d finish, but by sneaking in a few hours here and there over the past month, I managed to chip away at this scene and turn it into something I’m fairly proud of. Winning? Not a chance, some of the submissions I’ve seen are insanely good ! but I’m just happy to have contributed and (fingers crossed) to see my work in one of the challenge edits. =D For this challenge, I really focused on the digital environment side of 3D. I used some character model and animation from Epic Market's place since it's not my field of expertise, but otherwise when it comes to environment : No kitbashing, no online models, no AI bs... just me, Houdini, and the questionable life choices that led me to procedural modeling. I built most of the scene from scratch, using my Houdini-to-Unreal workflow to iterate quickly on composition, details, and adding that extra bit of weathering and damage to bring it to life.
