We can only hope he simply got separated from his mother, but the truth is, she is probably gone. This war has left so many kittens orphaned, and this little boy is likely no exception. His tiny body couldn’t even keep itself warm. That’s what hypothermia looks like in a baby—shaking, fading, getting quieter as the cold wins. He didn’t have the strength to move to safety. He didn’t have a mother’s body to curl into. He just sat there, crying into the open air, waiting for something to change. Thankfully, our team found him. We picked him up and brought him back to the sanctuary, and now he’s at the hospital on IV support, fighting hypothermia and weakness—fighting everything his tiny body has been forced to endure.
