Shashank Arora gets candid & real in this exclusive conversation with Filmfare's Editor-In-Chief Jitesh Pillai, talking about his acting career, learning from actor Rob Recce, his stints in Made In Heaven, Titli, Superboys Of Malegaon and more. In this interview the actor recalls his time working with actors like Irrfan Khan, Naseeruddin Shah and directors like Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, Dibakar Banerjee, Kanu Behl & more. He particularly recalls doing scenes with Irrfan Khan in The Song Of Scorpions, when the late actor was struggling with his physical health yet continued to bring his spark & passion on the set. When it comes to Naseeruddin Shah, Shashank describes him to be a calculative & an extremely precise actor by nature. Shashank further talks about his growing up years in Delhi and eventually moving abroad to study filmmaking & music in a university in Montreal and later getting trained at The Actors Studio in Los Angeles. He mentions about his parents who are both artists and how their influence too has impacted his journey as an artist and how with their support he could pursue his acting dreams in Mumbai. As an actor he admits that he hasn't watched some of his work on screen and also talks about the constant tussle between understanding what he did well and what he could have done better. Shashank also opens up about being not-so-active on social media, the dynamics and results of having a certain number of followers and how a person’s digital presence influences movie ticket sales. The actor signs off by reflecting on the movie watching habit of audiences, off-beat films of his like Titli & Brahman Naman and his wish to direct & write films.
