A key piece of information involved the suspect vehicle—a distinctive white-over-blue 1956 Chevy—which was never located. Now, Adventures with Purpose is revisiting this case, determined to locate the car and bring new information to light for Mary Kay's loved ones. The long-standing theory is that the 1956 Chevy was disposed of in a nearby lake. Using updated equipment, our team's goal is to find physical evidence that could confirm or disprove this theory. The mission is focused on locating the vehicle in hopes of providing more clarity to the case. The search process begins with dredging. Our operator carefully removes layers of sediment, sifting through the lakebed for any potential evidence. The work is methodical and requires patience due to the conditions of the water. The objective is to clear sections of the lake systematically to ensure a thorough search is conducted in the areas of highest probability. Soon, the search yields its first potential items of interest. The team discovers pieces of metal and a blue fiber that could be from a car's interior. A notable find is a piece of fabric with two shades—blue and light blue. This is significant because it matches the known interior colors of the 1956 Chevy. The material is later compared to pictures of "Barn Find" upholstery, showing a strong resemblance. These finds suggest we are searching in a relevant area. 🚙 Based on these findings, our diver enters the water to investigate further. The goal is to get a visual or physical confirmation of a vehicle on the lakebed. The dive is difficult due to very low visibility in the water, which requires the diver to rely heavily on touch to identify any objects. The team on the surface assists by monitoring the diver's progress and location throughout the search. The video also provides context on the case's legal status. On July 31, 2025, the suspected killer, Joseph Ambroz, accepted a plea deal for conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, resulting in a two-year prison sentence. For Mary Kay's family, the result was not what they had hoped for. Her cousin, Kathy Tull, voices the family's disappointment with the outcome, stating that they do not feel justice was served.
