When agrifood systems are sustainable, they do much more than just feed the world. From protecting biodiversity and mitigating emissions to restoring degraded ecosystems and reviving land and water, the way we feed the world has the power to deliver solutions across critical environmental challenges. Since 2006, FAO and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) have partnered with over 140 countries and communities to make that vision a reality by financing agrifood systems solutions for climate, biodiversity, land, water, oceans, forests, and more.
