Description
Every spring, when the ice disappears from the lakes, it's hard to resist heading north in search of brook trout. This time, my brother and I set off on a 7-day backcountry canoe trip through Algonquin Park, paddling deep into the wilderness with everything we needed packed in our canoes. There's something special about sharing time in wild places with family, and this trip reminded me why these adventures mean so much.
Along the way we chased wild brook trout, tackled long portages, cooked over the fire, and spent our days surrounded by the quiet beauty of Algonquin's backcountry. Whether the fishing is good or not, it's always about the journey—the places you see, the conversations you have, and the memories you bring home.
If you enjoy canoe tripping, backcountry camping, brook trout fishing, wilderness travel, and exploring the Canadian outdoors, I think you'll enjoy coming along on this adventure.
