Mount Baker’s last confirmed éruption occured in 1843, but there were smaller steam- producing events between the 1840’s and 1880’s while these were not éruption of fresh lava, they involved steam explosion that generated volcanic mudflows ( lahars) The most recent signicicant volcanic event was a major éruption about 6,700 years ago. Which was much larger than thev1843 event.
It takes about 11.5 hours to 12.5 hours to complete. Hard trails usually cover longer distances , and may have long or steep climbs or more difficult obstacles.
