Description

"Microplastics have become ubiquitous and persistent in our environment. They are found in the ocean, on land, in the things we eat, and even in our bodies. Dr. Granek will address in detail where they are found, where they come from, and their environmental and health impacts. Dr. Granek is Professor in the Dept. of Environmental Science and Management at Portland State University. She earned her Masters in Forest Ecology at Yale, and her Ph.D. in Marine Ecology at Oregon State. She has conducted extensive research on microplastics in marine and other environments in the Pacific Northwest."
