Mum takes a frog to the chicks – Dad gets three centipedes! Australian magpies

Three centipedes under one bale! New record! One and two at 3:22, #3 at 4:07! With that, some roaches, worms and a medium-sized grasshopper you'd think Dad would be pretty full. The frog is at 9:25 – the last visit of the day. We kick off with Dad hogging bales and a grasshopper I tried to give Mum for the chicks. At 6:27 Mum rocks up alone for a bale and takes the chicks a pair of curl grubs before returning for a feed herself and finding a snacking frog. I think it's a Striped Marsh Frog but there's only a single unblurred image of its back so I could be wrong. At 7:18 and 9:08 Mum uses her foot to extract insects from a beakful of grass. Kinda cute. This might not be as unusual a behaviour as I thought it was. I used to think it was really rare as I'd only seen it once before. Nope! I don't think that any more. It's cute though. Cheers folks!
